Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquids
As some of you may know, I spend a lot of time on Youtube watching beauty gurus, makeup tutorials, and product reviews. I don't know why, but it's so relaxing to watch someone else apply their makeup. I thoroughly enjoy Korean beauty products so I've been stuck on The Beauty Breakdown's channel for quite some time now.
A few weeks ago, Morgan posted about the Influenster app and I immediately downloaded it. It's an app that allows you to review products as well as read reviews. Every so often, they will email you a sort of quiz to take and if you seem to fit the profile that they're looking for, they will send you products (for free) to test out and review! Everything you're about to read is my opinion.
Lucky for me, I was sent the Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid's, as I'm sure you could assume from the title of the blog post. I was sent two colors: Nude Flush and Rebel Red. From my first glance, I knew that I would love Nude Flush for an everyday, simple look. Rebel Red, as you can see from the photos is like a firetruck red, which I feel is only suitable for certain events (maybe that's just me).
I first applied Nude Flush because I knew I would love it annnnd I was right. It suits my skin tone (which is very light) so perfectly. It's not too nude and it's not too pink. The wear is comfortable and the color was super opaque. I only had to go over my lips once in order to get the color payoff I was looking for.
Unfortunately, this wasn't the same for Rebel Red. I didn't line my lips for either of the liquid lipsticks because I wanted to see how they would wear on their own. Rebel Red was not nearly as pigmented and it feathered much more than Nude Flush did. I'll have to try this again with a lip liner and maybe that problem will be fixed but I wasn't incredibly impressed with Rebel Red.
I know I'll be wearing Nude Flesh on the reg, though. I'm so excited about this color.
